7 typische Fehler beim Waschen - washo.ch

7 typical mistakes when washing

  1. The closed door

A forgotten grandmother's wisdom says: A full washing machine must be closed, but an empty one must be open. Leaving the door open after washing gives the moisture a chance to escape. Otherwise, it provides a great breeding ground for bacteria that nobody wants in the washing machine.

  1. Crowded drum

In order to save electricity, it makes sense to fill the washing machine completely. But there is a fine line, because a full drum prevents your clothes from being rinsed properly. Refer to the instructions for your washing machine to find out how much laundry is suitable for your appliance. Otherwise, the hand trick helps: there should be at least a hand's width of space between the laundry and the drum cover.

  1. Overdosing of detergents

Overdosing is a typical mistake when washing laundry, which causes detergent residue to stick to the clothes. Fortunately, Washo users do not have this problem, the Washo wash strips make dosing easy.

  1. Failure to clean the washing machine

The washing machine is similar to the shower: although we use water and washing substances in it, it does not clean itself. Lint and hair collect on the sealing ring and you will find tissue residue in the filter. A regular check of the washing machine should therefore be part of the routine. Once a year, you can also run the machine without laundry but with a little vinegar or lemon juice to descale and remove germs.

  1. Stains not pretreated

Clothes with heavy stains should be pre-treated by hand before washing. It is important that you do not rub too hard, as this will damage the material, but soak and then clean carefully. 1. The machine doesn't deserve a break!
In larger households, one wash cycle is usually not enough, so it's worth putting in a wash day. But instead of giving the washing machine a break between washes, you should run the washes one after the other. The

reason is that the washing machine can continue to use the heat and consumes significantly less electricity.

7. You don't use a laundry net

A laundry net has numerous advantages that make your life easier. You can easily pack underwear, small items or socks in the net so that you can sort them quickly. The plus point is: your washing machine will never make a sock disappear again. Laundry bags that trap environmentally harmful fibers such as polyester are even more ecological.
