Washo Stain Doctor: Beer and alcohol<tamp>stains</tamp>

Beer, wine, or schnapps—alcohol stains are often sneaky. But then again, so is alcohol ;-)

🔍 The diagnosis

: Barely visible at first, they tend to show dark edges or yellowish shadows after drying. But with the right tricks, you can get them clean—without a hangover.

🚨 Immediate help & Caution:

  • Rinse with cold water – directly from the back so that the stain does not set deeper into the fabric.
  • Do not rub! Just dab gently.

🧽 Step-by-step instructions

  1. Pre-treatment with vinegar water:
Mix some vinegar with lukewarm water (ratio 1:2) and dab the area with it.
Leave to work for 10 minutes.
  2. Baking soda or baking powder:
Apply to the damp stain and rub in gently – this will remove any odor and residual discoloration.
  3. Use stain remover:
Gently rub in Washo stain remover and leave to work for 15 minutes.
  4. Wash:
Machine wash at 30–40 °C feel free to add a spoonful of Washo active oxygen during the main wash cycle.

Dos &Don'ts

Do this:

  • React quickly—especially with mixed drinks (e. g., Jägermeister with beer)
  • . Use vinegar water for color or odor residues
  • . Use baking soda for musty stains

. Avoid:

  • Hot water on fresh stains
  • Perfume or deodorant to "cover up" the smell – this often makes it worse and won't save the evening
  • Dryer or ironing before washing – I'll just mention this here, even though no one would ever come up with such an absurd idea anyway.... But when alcohol is involved, you never know ;-)
