In Switzerland, it's almost an everyday occurrence: chocolate stains after afternoon tea or dessert.

  • Rinse the stainfrom the back with cold water– this prevents the chocolate from setting deeper into the fibers.

    Drizzle the stain with a littlelemon juiceor diluted vinegar – both help to dissolve proteins and sugar.
  2. Use baking soda:
    Sprinkle baking soda on the dampened stain, rub in gently, and leave for 10 minutes.
  3. Now

  4. Washing:
