Switzerland: Clean image, dirty reality
Switzerland is often considered the world champion of recycling. But a closer look reveals a different picture:
High consumption: With 127 kg of plastic per person per year, Switzerland ranks at the top in Europe.
Low recycling rate: Only about 10% of plastic waste is recycled, while the majority is incinerated.
Environmental impact: Every year, around 14,000 tons of macro- and microplastics end up in the Swiss environment.
These figures show that urgent action is needed.
