What if sustainability were easy?
This question kept nagging at Washo founder Lukas. And then, as if the universe had been listening, the answer came straight from Canada.
In the form of a simple but brilliant invention: laundry strips instead of plastic bottles AND without unnecessary chemical excess. Lukas was immediately hooked. Switzerland needs this too!

Beginning of May '21
Start of a green revolution
It all started with a web shop, a bicycle, and big dreams. Lukas personally cycled the first orders to the post office. Facebook posts were shared, comments exploded—it seemed like Switzerland had been waiting for this!

Bye-bye bicycle logistics
4,210 orders in just 25 days! The bike had to be retired. Who would have thought that "plastic-free" would become such a trend so quickly? (Okay, we did—but THIS quickly?)

Launch of our dishwasher tabs without plastic packaging. The idea? Not ours. (But good is good, and we're fans of anything that avoids plastic!)

"Made in Germany" becomes a reality
Together with another sustainability startup, we are launching production in Germany. The demand? It's growing faster than a bamboo forest – even too fast for German thoroughness!

The BIG breakthrough
Over 2,000 stores in Switzerland! From Migros and Denner to drugstores and eco-friendly shops. Even Lidl and the post office are included. From two post office branches in Appenzell to the whole of Switzerland.

We have been donating 1% of our revenue since day one. In January 2024, we were extremely proud to donate CHF 200,000 to social and environmental projects for the first time!
