During his vacation this summer, Washo founder Lukas visited Tanzania to see for himself how our donations are making a difference. You can find the report of his triphere .
. Washo's local partner has a project: Plant trees to stop poverty and supports local farmers in establishing fruit forests. This helps to bind CO2 and provides food, income, and work for the local population.
During his visit, Lukas met many families and children living in extreme poverty. Together with Forest Focus, we are actively supporting them with money and the promise to stand by their side in the long term.
Joyce
Lukas also met Joyce.A talented girl with great academic and personal potential. Joyce lived with her mother and siblings in precarious conditions in a small mud hut without electricity or sanitation (i.e., no toilet).
Washo has committed to paying for urgent work on the family home (e.g., building a toilet) and supporting Joyce's education. Joyce has now been attending a local boarding school for three months, where she receives safety, food, and education.
