Who invented it?

We didn't invent anything. The idea is so simple that we didn't even come up with it ourselves.

The innovation originally comes from Canada and is already well known in many parts of the world. The idea of washing more sustainably and protecting our waterways more immediately convinced us. With Washo washing strips, we now want Householdto make this option Householdavailable to everyone Householdin Switzerland as quickly as possible Household.

Washo Story

This is contained in our washing strips

Washo deliberately uses minimalist ingredients for the sake of the environment.

  • Non-ionic
  • surfactants Water
  • Anionic surfactants
  • Fragrances (Fresh Breeze, Lavender, Sensitive)

What makes Washo sustainably clean?

  • Washo is biodegradable and free from microplastics.

  • Washo does not use unnecessary additives

  • Washo is vegan, cruelty-free, and not tested on animals.

  • Washo focuses on recycling instead of disposable waste

Washo products also need active washing substances (surfactants). We use them very sparingly and deliberately avoid many unnecessary additives.

For the specialists among you, here are the safety data sheets (SDS) for our products:

Washo washing strips have been tested for biodegradability in accordance with OECD302B. You can find the test reporthere. . The proven biodegradability after 28 days is 99%. Additional biodegradability occurs over time.

  • Washo is listed in the Swiss Product Register for Chemicals (RPC) and, like all detergents, must display legally required warning labels on its packaging.

The wording of these warnings is strictly regulated, and most of them will come as no surprise to you: it goes without saying that detergents should be kept away from children, should not be rubbed into the eyes, and certainly should not be swallowed.

Nevertheless, we have asked our Swiss testing company to provide a clear explanation for our customers:

"The mandatory P-phrases were actually formulated primarily for the chemical manufacturing industry, where large quantities of products with correspondingly greater hazards are used. Nevertheless, they are always mandatory, even for small quantities."

  • The following statement is particularly confusing for consumers: "Harmful to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. "That's why the specialist explained the background to us

    . "

If the total amount of ingredients classified as H412 (which are surfactants in all detergents) in the mixture is greater than 25%, this statement must be included. In Washo, the percentage is so high because the product weighs only 2g in total. However, it is precisely because of its low weight that Washo's low consumption of raw materials conserves resources and promotes sustainable development of the planet."

Where does Washo produce?

As an ecologically and socially sustainable Swiss company, we would of course prefer to produce exclusively in Switzerland. However, this is unfortunately not realistic in terms of the origin of raw materials and special production processes.

All Washo laundry strips are produced in Germany. The same applies to Washo dishwasher tabs.

Washo Care products are manufactured both in Switzerland (Swiss Edition) and in Germany (Ecocert certified).

Washo wash strips

As Switzerland's leading brand of car wash strips, we manufacture our products in Europe. All Washo car wash strips are 100% manufactured in an owner-managed German SME.

This sets us apart from our online competitors, who mainly source their products from China.

Washo DishwasherTablets Co.

Produced exclusively for Washo by an ECOCERT-certified German family business, our dishwasher tablets are manufactured according to the highest quality standards and a consistent ECO formula. Washo add-on products such as eco-friendly oxygen-based bleach, stain remover soap with soap nut extract, etc. are also produced in Germany using carefully selected ingredients. Even the high-quality storage containers in stylish Washo designs are the result of our high standards of quality and sustainability in German production.
